This field must be populated if the Operator is to be allowed to log in to Simcom. When logged in, they may view their own transactions and remaining balances. Usernames within the Simcom system must be unique. An error message will be displayed if a Username is already in use. A Username cannot be used unless there is a corresponding Password. The Disable toggle must also be set to the left in order to allow them to log in.

Description 1

These three fields are provided for convenience. You can use them to record information not contained in other fields. Data in these fields are included in searches from the Operator List "Search" function. For example, you may decide to use Description 1 to identify certain Operators in terms of their driving license class (Class 1, Class 2, Unrestricted, etc). Then, by typing "Unrestricted" (without the quotes!) into the Search box and pressing "GO", you will get a list of all the Unrestricted operators.

Validation Code

A Validation Code is a secret code that an Operator inputs after presenting a valid credential at the dispensing terminal. It is akin to the PIN that bank cards require when used at a point of sale or bank machine. This provides an extra layer of security, especially if they use credentials such as RFID or magstripe cards that can be picked up by an unauthorized user. In addition to assigning a Validation code of at least 4 digits and/or characters, be sure that the Operator is assigned a Processing Script that contains a Message which prompts them to enter their Validation Code, and marks the input as type "validation". Validation Codes are not normally used for Asset Registrations.

TERMINALS

All dispensing Terminals in the company will be listed here. Select each Terminal that the Operator is allowed to dispense product from by clicking on the box beside it to create a checkmark. For each Terminal, you must also select a Processing Script from the drop-down box to the right of the Terminal name. Diferent Terminals can use different Processing Scripts if desired. The Operator will not be able to use any Terminal for which there is no checkmark.

ASSETS

In systems where Operators are required to identify the Asset they are filling, and the Asset itself has a Registration, you must identify all the Assets that the Operator is allowed to dispense product to. When you click on Assets, Simcom will bring up a list of all available Assets (it may take a short while for the complete list to be compiled). Select each Asset that the Operator is allowed to fill by clicking the checkbox beside it. You can quickly "Select All" Assets by clicking the "Select All" checkbox. Then, if desired, you can remove Assets one by one if they do not apply to this specific Operator.

REGISTRATION GROUPS

A Operator can be assigned to one or more Registration Groups. Certain reports and search functions can then be filtered to include only those Registrations belonging to selected Registration Groups. New Registration Groups are created from within the Registration Groups section found in the left-side panel of the Simcom software. You must have the appropriate permissions assigned to create, edit, or delete groups. Existing Registrations can be assigned to a Group when the Group is created. Registrations can be assigned to existing Registration Groups either at the time the Registration is created, or afterwards by editing the Registration.

Single Transaction Limit

The value entered here is the maximum that can be dispensed from any dispensing point in any single transaction. The Limit is expressed in terms of volume if "Authorize by Volume" is selected. The Limit is expressed in terms of currency if "Authorize by Dollar Amount" is selected. Single Transaction Limit is a mandatory field. It is just one of a number of limits that may apply to any given transaction; Simcom calculates the volume allowed based on the smallest of all the limits in effect for a given grade of product.

Daily Limit

This is the maximum that that can be dispensed in the 24-hour period from midnight to midnight on any given day. The Limit is expressed in terms of volume if "Authorize by Volume" is selected. The Limit is expressed in terms of currency if "Authorize by Dollar Amount" is selected. Daily Limit is a mandatory field. If you do not care to establish a daily limit, simply set it to a high number. The value displayed for Daily Balance shows how much of the Daily Limit is avaialble based on the latest transaction records in Simcom.

Credit Limit

This is the maximum dollar amount, encompassing all products and grades, that can be dispensed to this Registration. Establishing a credit limit may be more appropriate than establishing a volume limit, particularly when there is a large difference in the price between products and grades. Credit Limit is a mandatory field. If you do not care to establish a daily limit, simply set it to a high number. The value displayed for Credit Balance shows how much of the Credit Limit is still available based on the latest transaction records in Simcom. Credit Limits are also used to add credit when using the Pre-Paid credit option for a Registration.

Grade Access
All available grades from all terminal locations are shown with a checkbox beside them. The Operator will only be authorized to dispense grades for which there is a checkmark.

Access Allowed
For each day of the week, you can specify a range of time during which this specific Operator can dispense product. Outside of these times, their credentials will not work. To set a range, double click on the "From" box, then use the clock to select the hour and minute of the start to the allowable time frame for each day. Next, double-click on the "To" box, and set the clock's hours and minutes to set the end of the allowable time frame for each day.
